Cultural Night is a longstanding community charity event that has been held annually since 1994 and this year marks the 16th Anniversary of Cultural Night. Cultural Night is about an experience which in recent years has been associated with the essence of our kaleidoscopic ethnicities. This year the Cultural Night committee aims to transport the modern youth of the sub-continent to Ancient India. In doing so, we hope to display the fusion of our Ancestral as well as the Australian values, and explicate what it means to be a person of South-East Asian Origin.

Cultural Night has always provided the opportunity for young South-East Asian migrants to connect with and be proud of their heritage. This year’s committee seeks to recreate this opportunity, to enhance and promote the cultural diversity within our community through the exhibition of Dance, Drama and Music in its various forms, as we come to celebrate the essence of our innermost emotions and feelings

Cultural Night does not only unify five universities, it unifies our society. Each year, individuals come to proudly exhibit their traditional attire and socialise with friends, yet knowingly or unknowingly exhibiting and experiencing a part of their culture. Each year, the audiences leave the function feeling unified and proud of their cultural heritage. In this way, Cultural Night is an experience which is not only beneficial for our charity, but it acts as a beneficial tool for the enhancement of our society.

It acts ultimately as a spiritual treasure- spreading, while celebrating the traditions, ideologies and the essence of our collective cultural soul.
